David de Wet

Managing Director

David is the founder and Managing Director of EcoVate. He is MCIPS and PRINCE2 qualified, and an experienced public sector Procurement Consultant with over 19 years’ experience. He led the LPP Estates and Facilities Category until 2012 and has subsequently been leading on large scale and complex commercial and procurement projects in the NHS. David has built a reputation for being a high-quality leader with a depth of professional skills, built on a framework of holistic project management and business operations. He has a track record of successfully delivering all aspects of his assignments, having a unique ability to quickly evaluate, prioritise, and address underperforming services and to then devise and implement strategic recovery plans. His key areas of expertise include NHS health management, public sector procurement, business turnaround and strategy, and project financing, development and planning.

Jenny kervarrec

Managing Partner - Operations & Special Projects

Jenny is a Managing Partner at EcoVate. She oversees the operational function and requirements of the company, as well as manages various special projects. She has a passion for driving and optimising the company’s operations and operating capabilities. Jenny’s track record shows that she believes in delivering with excellence. As a dynamic procurement practitioner with advanced problem-solving skills, she also manages special projects that benefit from her procurement experience and knowledge. Jenny is PRINCE2 qualified and has over 16 years’ experience in public procurement, business management and project management, including more than 6 years specifically within the NHS environment. She is highly organised, has strong attention to detail and is committed to ensuring the highest quality standards.

Samm Parker

Managing Partner - Procurement & Consulting

Samm is a Managing Partner at EcoVate. He oversees the Procurement and Consultancy arm of the company. Samm is a dynamic procurement and contract specialist with over 18 years’ comprehensive experience and a proven track record of delivering complex, politically sensitive, and strategic procurement programmes. He is MCIPS and PRINCE2 qualified, as well as commercially astute, highly motivated, with strong problem-solving skills, a proven ability to strike deals, forge and build relationships and negotiate with senior stakeholders. Samm has in-depth knowledge of UK procurement directives with applied first-hand experience of managing and delivering high value challenging UK procurements. Enthusiastic and highly motivated, he relishes a challenge and enjoys being pushed outside of his comfort zone.

Charlie Bell

Strategic Account Manager

Charlie is the Strategic Account Manager at EcoVate. He leads the building of new client relationships, whilst helping existing clients unlock further value through EcoVate services. Charlie has a strong background in account management, sales and forming commercial partnerships within the technology sector. He was previously a Captain in the British Army for over 7 years and completed his training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Charlie is highly motivated, a team player and has a proven ability to engage effectively with all levels of stakeholders to ensure the best client experience. 

Danielle Gunning

Executive Assistant

Danni is the Executive Assistant at EcoVate. She plays a key role at the company in assisting the Executives through providing personalised and timely administrative support that allows them to effectively manage and direct the company. Danni fulfils an administrative role for business-related tasks for the Managing Partners such as scheduling meetings, taking minutes, tracking workflows and updating the relevant platforms, drafting contracts, managing calendars, formatting documentation and other organisational tasks.

Pam de Wet

Accounts

Pam is the Accounts Administrator for EcoVate. Her responsibilities include reviewing and reconciling accounts, processing payments to external partners and maintaining updated records of invoices and receipts. She ensures that all financial transactions are processed accurately and on time.

Thalia Southgate

HR and Skills Development Manager

Thalia is the Human Resources and Skills Development Manager and in her role looks after ensuring sound human resources practices within the organisation. She has a love for seeing people flourish in the workplace and in her role manages the employee lifecycle, which includes recruitment, performance management, training and employee relations. EcoVate is committed to ensuring that our employees are engaged, have meaningful work and have opportunities to grow and develop in their careers and therefore this role is key to ensuring that this is done intentionally. Having gained valuable experience working on procurement projects prior to stepping into her current role, Thalia is able to use her procurement knowledge along with her human resources expertise, to advise with insight.

Denise Phelan

Senior Advisor

Denise has over 22 years’ experience in procurement with a special focus on public procurement and commerciality in the NHS. Denise is MCIPS qualified, with a proven background in managing and delivering successful, complex procurements. Starting with a strong grounding in IT procurement at Deloitte and logistics procurement at Barclays, Denise has demonstrated her procurement skill set within both the public and private sectors. Her specialty is Non-Clinical Procurement, covering a broad range of Corporate categories such as Estates & Facilities, Workforce, Professional Services, IT and Finance. Denise has a reputation for ensuring compliance to the various Contracts Regulations balanced with achieving the best commercial and contractual outcomes for her clients. She is an effective project manager and excels at stakeholder management, ensuring a collaborative approach to procurement and project delivery within multidisciplinary teams. She has strong attention to detail, is highly organised and in her spare time is pursuing a Masters in International Public Procurement Law and Policy.

John Magnier

Senior Advisor

John is a Senior Advisor at EcoVate and forms part of our Senior Advisory Team. John has a track record of over 35 years’ of delivering projects, cost savings, effective contract/supplier relationship management and leadership in the public and private sectors.John is an experienced and focused healthcare procurement professional who consistently delivers against targets, guiding clients through the many challenges that face UK organisations. He is a highly capable and commercially astute member of EcoVate with strong knowledge of EU and UK procurement legislation and activities. His knowledge covers development of strategy, through to tender, negotiation, award, contract negotiation, mobilisation and governance, consolidating service lines to improve delivery and cost, and developing key performance indicators and service levels.

Martin Gibson

Consultant

Martin is a Senior Consultant for EcoVate. He has more than 20 years’ procurement experience within both the public and private sectors. Martin is a dynamic procurement specialist with a proven track record of negotiation, category management, supplier relationship management and a stakeholder focussed attitude. He is commercially astute, highly motivated, conscientious, with strong problem-solving ability, proven ability to strike deals, forge and build relationships and negotiate with senior stakeholders and suppliers. He is MCIPS qualified and has in-depth knowledge of UK procurement directives with applied first-hand experience of managing and delivering high value challenging UK procurements.

Dr Nick Ray

Energy and Projects Director / Senior Associate

Nick is a Senior Associate with EcoVate. He is MBA-qualified and a procurement and contract specialist with over 20 years’ experience working with the NHS and public sector, with particularly specialism in energy and carbon reduction projects. Nick founded the energy services company (ESCO), Cynergin, and grew and steered it to acquisition in 2016 before joining EcoVate in 2020. His expertise includes detailed knowledge and direct practical experience of the NHS procurement and financial processes. Nick has an extensive track record of developing and delivering capital intensive performance-related energy retrofit and carbon reduction projects, including many NHS Trusts and the Natural History Museum.

Nicky Hay

Head of Client Services & Senior Consultant

Nicky manages the dynamic Client Services team that includes the Procurement Project Management Office. The Client Services team, amongst other services, undertakes the day-to-day management of procurement projects, including various complex tenders. This includes planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting on tenders, according to UK regulations, while remaining aligned with the strategy and goals of the company and our clients. Nicky often leads on mentorship and training initiatives to build internal capacity for our clients towards ensuring their procurement departments run procurements compliantly and efficiently. She has a good understanding of clients’ requirements and undertakes the first line of quality checking and assurance of client reports. Nicky is an experienced PRINCE 2 Practitioner with over 20 years’ experience in public procurement and project management. She has a passion for procurement and ensuring projects are delivered against agreed deadlines with the best possible outcome and value for money for the client. Nicky has strong planning, facilitation, proposal development, editing, communication, management and business development skills.

Michelle Hodgkiss

Consultant

As a Consultant, in the Client Services team, Michelle has the overall responsibility for the planning, initiation, execution and closure of various procurements simultaneously, while remaining aligned to the strategy, commitments and goals of our clients. In particular, Michelle has gained valuable experience and expertise in managing capital procurement projects for Estates and Facilities Departments, including hospital redevelopments and running HIP tenders. She also assists with the procurement2pay process and putting in place processes to ensure adherence to Trusts’ Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs). Michelle contributes to the improvement of practices, templates and policies of EcoVate’s clients ensuring compliance and effective management of our client’s internal procurement functions. She has strong organising, planning, and problem-solving skills allowing her to effectively manage multiple projects and members of the Procurement PMO team that report to her.

Sarah Campbell

Consultant

Sarah is a Consultant in the Client Services team and she successfully manages the project delivery of a portfolio of multiple procurement projects that span multiple clients. Sarah has over 13 years’ experience in various areas of public procurement and business management including project management, project implementation, and business administration. Sarah’s areas of expertise include procurement and project management. Sarah has strong administrative, organising, planning, and problem-solving skills allowing her to effectively prioritise and manage multiple projects at the same time and members of the Procurement PMO team that report to her.

Anri Elsbury

Consultant

Anri is a Consultant in the Client Services team, she manages multiple procurement projects throughout their lifecycle from planning to initiation to implementation to completion and reporting. Anri is PRINCE2 qualified and has more than 21 years’ experience in procurement in the public sector, project management, business management and business administration. Her areas of expertise include public procurement and project management. Anri also has strong organising, planning, and problem-solving skills allowing her to effectively prioritise and manage multiple projects at the same time as well as the members of the Procurement PMO team that report to her.”

Jason Naidoo

Consultant

Jason is a MCIPS qualified Consultant in the Client Services team with 13+ years of procurement experience and has direct experience in managing and delivering complex UK procurements within both the public and private sectors. He is results driven and has strong technical, analytical and relationship management skills which enable him to lead procurement processes, identify saving opportunities and to implement change. Jason is highly motivated with sound judgment, meticulous organisational skills and comprehensive knowledge of procurement directives which meets internal supply needs while maintaining budgets and operational goals.

Bianca de Kock

Junior Consultant

Bianca is a Procurement Manager in the Procurement PMO. She ensures successful project delivery for various procurement projects with multiple clients, which includes full implementation from planning and initiation to completion and reporting while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments, and goals of EcoVate and our clients. She is a proactive, hands-on, and dynamic professional with extensive project management experience acquired in an array of industries. In addition to her project management experience, Bianca has over 10 years of experience in the fields of public procurement, customer service, operations, marketing, new business development and hotel management.

Brian de Wet

Junior Consultant

Brian is a Procurement Officer in the Procurement PMO. He plays a key role in performing many of the administrative tasks required for the successful implementation of projects in the Procurement PMO. As a Procurement Officer, Brian works in collaboration with the Procurement Managers and the Senior Procurement Lead in supporting the full project lifecycle of tenders and undertaking market research for various procurement processes. Brian has over 13 years’ experience in business development and project management and administration. As a creative and dynamic problem-solver, Brian has strong planning, organisation, and communication skills.

Divan van Zyl

Junior Consultant

Divan is a Procurement Manager in the Procurement PMO. He has responsibility for the successful planning, design, initiation, execution, monitoring and closure of various procurement projects, while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments, and goals of our clients. He is a proactive, hands-on, and dynamic professional with extensive project management experience acquired in highly competitive markets. In addition to his project management experience, Divan has over 9 years’ experience in public procurement, customer service, operations, marketing, business development and event production.

Eloise Böning

Junior Consultant

Eloise is a Junior Consultant in the Procurement PMO. She plays a key role in performing many administrative tasks required for the successful management of a portfolio of projects that span multiple clients. As a Procurement Officer, she works in collaboration with the Procurement Managers and the Senior Procurement Lead in ensuring the successful implementation of projects. She has extensive experience in the field of education and running a successful small business. Planning, management, being organised, problem solving, adhering to deadlines, and paying attention to detail are a few of the valuable skills she brings to the table

Heather Palvie

Junior Consultant

Heather is a Procurement Officer in the Procurement PMO. She plays a key role in performing many of the administrative tasks required for the smooth running of the Procurement PMO. As a Procurement Officer, Heather works in collaboration with the Head of the Procurement PMO, Procurement Managers and the Senior Procurement Lead. She has over 15 years’ experience in operations and business administration. Her skills include being highly organised, working well under pressure, problem solving and the ability to work in a very fast paced dynamic environment.

Katy Quinn

Junior Consultant

Katy is a Procurement Manager in the Procurement PMO. She has valuable client-facing experience working in commercial services managing contracts and engaging with key stakeholders within the clinical procurement environment and collaborating within Integrated Care Systems. As a Procurement Manager, Katy manages a portfolio of projects, including procurement projects. She has more than 6 years’ experience in operations and project management within the private and public sectors. Her areas of expertise include procurement, project management, implementing systems and managing end-to-end tender processes.

Kiah Bouwer

Junior Consultant

Kiah is a Procurement Officer in the Procurement PMO. She plays a key role in performing many administrative tasks required for the successful management of a portfolio of projects that span multiple clients. As a Procurement Officer, Kiah works in collaboration with the Procurement Managers and the Senior Procurement Lead in ensuring the successful implementation of projects. Kiah has valuable experience assisting with the procurement2pay process for Trusts and in ensuring adherence to Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs).  She has a background in marketing with over 3 years’ experience in public procurement, project management and co-ordination. Her skills include being detail orientated as well as being able to think critically and problem solving.

Mari Keet

Junior Consultant

Mari is a Procurement Manager in the Procurement PMO. She ensures successful project delivery for various procurement projects with multiple clients, which include full implementation from planning and initiation to completion and reporting, while remaining aligned with the strategy, commitments and goals of EcoVate and our clients. Mari has over 15 years’ experience in public sector procurement, business development and administration. She has strong skills in procurement project management, organising, planning, problem solving and attention to detail. She has advanced communication skills and effectively manages client relations.

Nicole Schuin

Nicole is a Procurement Officer in the Procurement PMO. Nicole works in collaboration with the Procurement Managers and the Senior Procurement Lead in providing essential administrative support to ensure the successful implementation of procurement projects. In addition, she assists with the procurement2pay process for NHS Trusts. Nicole has over 8 years’ experience in business operations, project and account management. Her skills include excellent administration, management level reporting, logistical planning, customer liaison and business management

Russell Chirau

Russell is a Procurement Officer in the Procurement PMO. He plays a key role in performing many administrative tasks required for the successful management of a portfolio of projects that span multiple clients. As a Procurement Officer, Russell works in collaboration with the Procurement Managers and the Senior Procurement Lead in ensuring the successful implementation of projects. He has a background in facilitation with over 3 years’ experience in project management and co-ordination. His skills include working well under pressure, problem solving as well as being able to think critically.

Sanlia Botha

Sanlia is a Procurement Officer in the Procurement PMO. She plays a key role in performing many administrative tasks required for the successful management of a portfolio of projects that span multiple clients. As a Procurement Officer, Sanlia works in collaboration with the Procurement Managers and the Senior Procurement Lead in ensuring the successful implementation of projects. Sanlia has over 8 years’ experience in account management and procurement. Her key skills include her ability to adhere to deadlines, being highly organized, as well as paying attention to details. In addition, she also possesses excellent communication skills.

Sarah-Lee Swanepoel

Junior Consultant

Sarah-Lee is a Procurement Officer in the Procurement PMO. She plays a key role in the successful implementation of various capital and procurement projects and in engaging with key stakeholders. Sarah-Lee has over 5 years’ experience in the areas of public procurement, business administration, project management, and co-ordination. Sarah-Lee’s areas of expertise include project coordination, putting in place systems and procedures, and developing innovative tools to manage complex projects. Her results-driven and problem-solving skillset can be applied to managing multiple administrative projects and priorities effectively at the same time.

Stacey Rhynas

Stacey is a Procurement Officer in the Procurement PMO. She plays a key role in performing many administrative tasks required for the successful management of the Procurement PMO. Stacey works in collaboration with the Procurement Managers and the Senior Procurement Lead in providing essential administrative support to ensure the successful implementation of various procurement projects. Stacey has 6 years of experience in business administration. Her attention to detail, administrative skills and organisational skills are utilised to efficiently manage administrative projects.
